If you have been with me for a long time then you know that usually during the school year, I disappear and this wasn’t any different. Sadly, it school just gets really crazy and life just isn’t easy, you know? So, I decided to make a chatty blog post that will update you on what I am doing and what’s really cool in my life right now.

I have finally entered my senior year in college and it has been a long journey of 6 years (one-year hiatus working in my field). I don’t know if I mentioned it but I was given the opportunity to design the musical. The musical at my college is the biggest show in terms of budget and size (usually) aside from the opera. Well, that took over my life from the end of September until November 21. I finished it and it looked beautiful!. I have also been bombarded with my school work and also car troubles.

Since I have somewhat calmed down, I had two days worth of workshops. Yesterday, I did a workshop learning about working in Vegas and about Cirque du Soleil. I can’t say that Vegas has called my name as a child or even as an adult but I know that it is low on the list of where I want to be when I graduate. That afternoon, I went on a polaroid field trip which was a ton of fun to really get to freely express art without having to make it so refined. This morning, I went to a metal workshop and welded pieces together. I even made a mermaid fin for myself as a pendant and I know it looks a little off but it is still something that I am proud of. In the afternoon, I learned about what it is like to work in a museum and working with costumes. She is a graduate from my college and it is interesting to see that she went from scenic design to museum exhibition designer.

I am so happy to have had the chance to do a quick catch up and I will hopefully be back into the groove soon!
