Unfortunately, this portrayal of The Mortal Instruments didn’t do the book justice, in my opinion. Casting is another issue but Isabelle Lightwood was a huge disappointment. I haven’t read the books in a long time but in my memory Isabelle is three things: Model-esque tall, strict, and cold (at least in the first book). She has more of an edge and she is the person that I could see fighting in a dress or seducing the target. Clearly, they show that in the first five minutes of the movie, but she is very much like Clary and almost nonexistent. Isabelle is a firecracker and can kick butt in anything that she wears. So, here are two dresses that she would wear when on a mission, incognito, and a pair of reasonably kick butt worthy boots.
