There is one thing I know I am happy to hear when I come home and that is that “food is ready!” So, after a long day, even if you haven’t received those few words, you can make a really quick meal that won’t take too long.
Green beans and corn, who doesn’t love that combination? Here is my mom’s green bean and corn recipe that I cannot live without now and it takes only five minutes prep/cook! Green Beans and Corn Recipe.
Buy yourself a rotisserie chicken for dinner because you can always lengthen the chicken to make it a meal for lunch the next day or a couple days down the road. A chicken from Sam’s costs $4.88 (I think) and you can also get them from Walmart or Harris Teeter. You don’t even have to cook it, someone did it already!
Make some rice, whether it is in a rice cooker or in a wide pot, you can make rice within thirty minutes if you wash it and then put it on medium heat. Depending on how hot your stove gets you may need to change the temperature. For my rice I like to add more flavor so adding garlic salt will add a nice mix to everything as well but you may not need it if you put a lot into your green beans and corn.
I hope that this helps you during your busy schedule! What do you eat on your busy nights?
